<s:content>1 Giving phone users the right to  	self-determination {anchor:Giving phone users the right to  	self-determination}
Are you bored by the "Accept or Deny" messages when using midlets? For Series 60 users there is a solution:

{link:my-symbian.com|http://shop.my-symbian.com/PlatformProductDetail.jsp?siteId=695&productId=147137}

With this PC based application you can set all the permissions to "always allowed" if you trust the midlet. (e.g. if you have developed the midlet yourself).

What's so great about it is the fact that you can set these permissions even if the midlet is not signed. Since you can't install your own root certificates the only way to create a signed midlet is to pay some hundred dollar each year to have a certificate. That's not always appropriate.

Some things even don't make sense if the user has to accept an action. (e.g. a midlet that starts every hour and does something usefull is useless if you have to look at your phone every hour and press "Ok")

This software runs like a charm with my 6600 (with firmware 4.09.1 and even with the older firmware).

On the newer Series 60 devices this seems to be no more possible. That's so sad.</s:content>
