HOLUX M-1000 for Geocaching

In my opinion the internal GPS receivers found in e.g. the Nokia N95 are sufficient to find geocaches.

But sometimes you might want more accuracy even under bad conditions. For that reason (and to use CacheTrack and car navigation software with my wife's Nokia 3250) we bought an Holux M-1000 and it's fantastic.

While our old GR-230 had some trouble receiving anything in our new car (and even the N95 doesn't work perfect there) the M-1000 has no trouble to get precise coordinates. The startup time until the first usable coordinates are calculated was always <30 secs. (Often the receiver has coordinates before the 3250 has loaded and started the application).

So if you want more or you are using a phone without an internal GPS I really can recommend the Holux M-1000. It's a fantastic and inexpensive device.
